PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED FOR THE NEW READING ROOM

REFORMING WHITTLEBURY'S WI

Many will recall that there used to be a thriving WI in the village which, unfortunately, had to fold about three years ago due, principally, to declining numbers of members.

The Whittlebury Good Neighbour Scheme fete held in stunning early autumn weather on Saturday 14th September was an outstanding success both for the Scheme and the village.

NEW PLAYING FIELD EQUIPMENT

As well as the imminence of the submission of plans for a new Reading Room by Whittlebury Parish Council, the Reading Room Management Committee is delighted to announce that the first steps have been taken to install new play equipment on the Playing Field.

VILLAGER OF THE YEAR

At the recent annual village meeting, Cheryl Evans was voted Whittlebury's villager of the year for her longstanding work with the Royal British Legion and the village's annual Poppy Appeal.

A richly deserved award and as Cheryl and her husband have now moved to Towcester, the village thanks her for all her work over many years and sends her and Richard every good wish for the future.
